My story

I have been on a journey of healing and transformation for most of my life and had a vision to create a sanctuary of health and wellbeing in my beloved community in the mountains of Central Portugal.
Life has thrown many challenges my way and what has kept me grounded and tethered is the deep knowing that we all come from the same divine source and that life is only testing my conviction of this. Throughout life’s wild journey I have always felt guided and held in this deep unending truth of who I really am.
My wish is to create a space where others can experience this truth for themselves, to come home to their true essence, to feel alive and to be well.

A Fonte means ‘The Source’:

the essence from which we all originate and the place to which we will all return.

The Space

The Shala

The Shala is inspired by nature. The space was designed to feel warm and inviting and to invoke a sense of peace and wellness. It has many windows connecting you directly to the surrounding lush mountain landscape and is clad in pine, with chestnut beams and cork flooring.

It is a sanctuary into which you can retreat from your daily routines and stresses and relax as you enjoy different healing and wellness modalities.

Casa Da Fonte

Casa Da Fonte is the adjoining rustic community space, which has a cosy corner, tables, chairs and a counter area where classes, workshop and events participants and members of the community can enjoy being together in a more casual setting to share interesting conversation.

The Gardens

The gardens of A Fonte are majestic and abundant. People often liken them to a hill station in India. There are different areas including a small bamboo grove, a yoga/meditation deck and a wisteria walkway. It is an ideal place to walk or sit in serene contemplation, looking out over the village of Benfeita and the mountains beyond.

The wider Quinta/Farm

There is a bigger farm attached to the property including an expansive walnut grove that borders a river and waterfall and many terraces with fruit trees, which provide food all year around. The vision is to eventually create a camping area in the flat walnut forest adjacent to the river to host retreat participants and to grow food.

Are you thinking about hosting a retreat, workshop or event?
